Yellowmargin Moray Eel

Gymnothorax flavimarginatus

Yellowmargin moray eels are common reddish brown eels, often with a bright yellow-green stripe around the outer edges of the tail. They are stocky and powerful eels but they seem generally calm around divers. Like any eel, they are best enjoyed and photographed from a safe distance. Like whitemouth morays, they often hunt jointly with peacock groupers.
