Raccoon Butterflyfish

Chaetodon lunula

It’s easy to see why Raccoon Butterflyfish have that name. These fish are often seen in pairs and also in large groups. They are a curious fish and will often approach divers. Due to the dark patterning on the top half and probably to the texture of the surface of the fish, photographs of these often appear out of focus when they actually are not.
