Arc Eye Hawkfish

Paracirrhites arcatus

Like other hawkfish, arc eye hawkfish are voracious predators, siting motionless on cauliflower and other corals, blending in waiting for prey to approach. They are territorial and each one seems to have it’s own favorite spot on a coral head, returning there later if it swims off. They have a distinctive yellow-orange arc around the eye.
